About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently on a DYI music tour with a New Orleans based jam-band for the next few months. The three of us are living and breathing music in a breaking bad style RV all over Florida and the gulf south.

ABOUT ME

I'm a musician in New Orleans, which is arguably the best music scene in the States. After playing music on a cruise ship, I realized how little I knew about the world and other cultures. Since then, cultural exchange has fascinated me, and music has been a driving force for me to facilitate that. I play many instruments, and get joy out of teaching others about music, whether it's theory or actually playing them. Learning new instruments is also a hobby of mine, especially in other parts of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that music is one of the striking components of what makes us human. That said, I find it to be a more direct path to metaphysical awareness. The fact that all cultures share this is what intrigues me the most and as a musician I consider it a duty to share, experience, learn and teach everything in how music and society relates.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few times and am about to start surfing for the first time. I've shown many people around New Orleans, and will gladly meet up for a drink if I'm in town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted two traveling musicians from Czech Republic, who introduced me to the concept. Then I had a new roommate move in that is active in the community who suggested I create a profile, so here I am.

Interests

Music, cycling & other outdoor activities, food, animals, video games, traveling, philosophy, electronics

Music, Movies, and Books

Obviously Music is my bigger interest out of the three. My favorite genres to play and listen to are Jazz, Rockabilly, Klezmer, Latin, Progressive Rock/Metal and World music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got paid to travel the world and play music on a cruise ship, which was one of the most significant experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach many aspects of music, even to those that don't consider themselves "musical". I have plenty of instruments to teach with.

I'm very interested in learning Spanish and cooking skills.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, Spain, United States
