Mi chiamo Michele and I grew up on Cape Cod just a few miles from the beach. After high school I joined the U.S. Navy working as a medical professional that took me to places like the Middle East and Italy, where I lived for nearly 4 years.
My travels and encounters with people from around the world have been a humbling influence and challenged my naive notions of this world and things such as: Love, war, pain, family, and friendship. Through sharing thoughts and experiences with people along the way strangers have become friends and I have grown from the spark of different ideas and cultures.

I'm on Couchsurfing to hopefully meet new people, share some experiences and the exchange of ideas, and help other travelers enjoy more of the journey unlike the "Tourist" who enjoys the destination. After all, as Henry Miller once said, "one's destination is never a place but rather a new way of seeing things."

Intereses

I am interested in travel, languages, philosophy, camping, running, yoga, cooking, live music, comparative mythology, and salsa dancing among other things.
