About Me

I currently live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, NSW with my husband Gavin.
We love the good things in life, and try to be outside enjoying everything the world has to offer as much as possible!
I have used couch-surfing before about 4 years ago whilst travelling Europe, and have hosted in Sydney. I now have a baby boy and can not host as we are renting again but hope to in the future!

Gav works as the Film and Event Manager of a council in Sydney, as well as a photographer. I work as an Events Manager around Australia for large sporting events and the occasional concert.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found it to be a really amazing way to meet like-minded people and it obviously helped financially. The hosts were so thoughtful and really wanted to show us their towns, which is what Gav and I would like to do when we are in our own place again.

We live in an amazing place called the Northern Beaches of Sydney and would love to show you around!

Interests

Gav and I love snowboarding, horse riding, wake boarding, surfing (Gavin NOT me) travelling and anything adrenaline pumping! Gav would love to have someone to take out surfing with him, as our local beaches have incredible waves, but I don't like them!

I also love to cook and love nothing more then dinner parties at home, with a really good (bottle of red wine.) Gav likes to cook tomatoes on toast which my grandmother taught him and Weetbix with honey and milk (yes, breakfast cereal)

We enjoy socialising but also our own time, and most people will say I am the talker and he is the listener.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a really electronic house human, but I love a good chill out to Enya or Dido (weird I know) Gav likes anything soulful or relaxing and he loves all the oldies. We listen to Triple J a lot because it tends to be right in the middle.

We are obsessed with the TV shows:
Suits, Game of Thrones, Love Child and Code (Gav worked on these last two)

Movies: we try to get to the cinema at least once a month, and usually take a meal in and make a night of it. We have access to $10 tickets too, so make sure you hit us up!

Both loveeeee reading, but sadly have not had a lot of time lately. Summer is great for that though, as we have the nicest sunbaking beaches ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One?
Jumped out of an plane! Twice. Gav has just completed his first (and only) jump - considering he is scared of flying, I think he did pretty well.
Competed in Grade One three day events in Horse Riding. So scary and big! Meeting Gav!

Gav, scuba diving! Surfing some incredible spots, travelling around the world for the Australian Water polo team and winning a Silver medal at the World Champs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love a good deal and we have websites that allow members to purchase food, beverage and activity deals in the area your travelling! So I would could help travelers find the best deals to suit them and their budget.
Gav loves to surf and could take like-minded people out at some sweet spots up and down the coast.

We love trying new foods so if you want to cook dinner one night that would be great!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook and pour wine?
Gav can set a table and talk?
Our one year old can entertain you with his giggles and funny antics?
We will share our love of travel and information. Gav used to play professional water polo for Australia so he has done quite a bit of traveling throughout the world. I on the other hand have done a few years in Canada on exchange/live, as well as Europe for 7 months and a fair bit of Asia, so we like to think we have seen a little bit. No where near as much as the majority of people on this site, which is what makes me even more keen to get going!

Happy to meet up with people or have some dinner!
