About Me

I was born in Tokyo but moved to Houston when I was young and grew up here. I am half Mexican and half Japanese!! I just finished both of my degrees in music and nursing, and now I want to explore everything I've been missing out on for the past 5 years. I love trying new food, going to new places, the great outdoors, hiking, swimming, scuba diving, camping, star-gazing, dressing up, mountains, beaches, The Sound of Music, airports and planes, MOTORCYCLES, California, sweatpants and baggy shirts, life, etc. Eventually I WANT TO BUILD MY VERY OWN TINY HOUSE! So if you have any knowledge on building one, please share. I want to meet people from all different walks of life and make friends around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm very new to Couchsurfing, but I love the idea of a global community of trusting people that are willing to open their homes to strangers and take a chance on building new relationships. I don't have my own home, so I can't host right now, but hopefully I'll be able to in the near future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up reading the Harry Potter series (I think I've read the whole series 3 or 4 times). I loved The Kite Runner and Life of Pi. I'm about to start reading a trilogy called The Century Trilogy by Ken Follett. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. I also love musicals - Singing in the Rain, The Sound of Music, you name it and I've watched it! When it comes to music, I can listen to just about anything! I grew up being trained in classical piano, so I have a deep appreciation for classical music. Some of my favorite composers are Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been able to hold a brand newborn baby in my arms and hold the hands of people taking their last breath on this Earth. Both are amazing in their own way.
