About Me

Hi there ! I am currently (5/2-2015) travelling with my friends Rebecca Østvand Matthiesen and Cecilie Bulow Andersen through the states! I have just spent four months in Canada studying and it was an amazing (though cold) experience. Now I am looking forward to discover the US as well as its amazing people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of people opening up their homes and hearts in order to get to know different cultures and peoples. I use Couchsurfing because I believe it gives the most authentic experience of a country while at the same time granting you the opportunity to meet new fantastic people.

My experience with Couchsurfing so far has been a life changing experience and I can't wait to go back and host fellow travellers ! One of my hosts showed me how he had been inspired by his couchsurfers to travel and explore the world. I love how couchsurfing lets you experience the many cultures and peoples of the world in your own Living room.

Interests

I love to read, write and meet new people. When I travel I love to eat local food and try new things, as well as meet new people. I love to move and that often includes trying out sports. I love Badminton and Football (The European kind)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is 'Cutting for Stone' by Abraham Verghese, but that is one among many. Books are small worlds ready to be visited !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love to sing and even though I do not have much experience with it yet, I thought it was an awesome experience to perform with my choir in front of a big audience. I think it is very hard to do stuff that is outside your comfort zone, but I find that when you do you never regret it, and it is those experiences that change you the most.

My roadtrip around Europe and my backpacking around Japan was two experiences that I definitely wouldn't have been without. The amazing streets of Tokyo, the great food of Italy, the open roads of France, and the great people that I've meet will forever be with me in my travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is a total cliché, but I just love this story.

ONE EVENING, AN ELDERLY
CHEROKEE BRAVE TOLD HIS
GRANDSON ABOUT A BATTLE THAT
GOES ON INSIDE PEOPLE.

HE SAID "MY SON, THE BATTLE IS
BETWEEN TWO 'WOLVES' INSIDE US ALL.
ONE IS EVIL. IT IS ANGER,
ENVY, JEALOUSY, SORROW,
REGRET, GREED, ARROGANCE,
SELF-PITY, GUILT, RESENTMENT,
INFERIORITY, LIES, FALSE PRIDE,
SUPERIORITY, AND EGO.

THE OTHER IS GOOD.
IT IS JOY, PEACE LOVE, HOPE SERENITY,
HUMILITY, KINDNESS, BENEVOLENCE,
EMPATHY, GENEROSITY,
TRUTH, COMPASSION AND FAITH."

THE GRANDSON THOUGH ABOUT
IT FOR A MINUTE AND THEN ASKED
HIS GRANDFATHER:

"WHICH WOLF WINS?..."

THE OLD CHEROKEE SIMPLY REPLIED,
"THE ONE THAT YOU FEED"
