About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm feeling amazing at the moment. I would like it to stay that way.

ABOUT ME

People who know me a little bit thinks I'm a great guy. The guys I live with call me Sméagol.

I live with five guys in an old house in suburban Copenhagen. Think of it as a mixture of Pippi Longstocking's Villa Villekulla and Tyler Durdens house in fight club (slightly cleaner though, and the electricity is working). However frustrating it can be for a guy who likes the pots and pans to be in a specific cupboard in the kitchen and dirty underwear to go in the laundry basket, I wouldn't trade it for anything. If family is the friends you didn't get to choose, this is the family I chose myself. You will know what I am talking about, when you experience them first hand.

I've been trying to fill out this box for 45 minutes now, and nothing really works in the kind of smart-funny way I want it to. Also, something should be left to when you get here. So the above will have to do. The above and: "I do irony. Some times people mistake that for being rude."

PHILOSOPHY

Be good to people. Even though you are hungry.

Philosophies are supposed to be something that youre not sure you can live up to, right?)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to think that I'm making the world a better place by simply being here. I guess the same thing goes for CS.

Apart from that, we share the house and the familiarity whenever it's possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had quite a lot of people staying in the house through the last couple of years. Every experience has been fun. Quite a few has been amazing.
My surfing experinces limits to a three week trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg last summer. Though, it was maybe even more fantastic than hosting. An amazingly warm welcome from every single host. All references are on my friend Martins profile: http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=3EXCRJ0

Interests

Music, films, books and people. Like everyone else.
Then Africa, bicycles (I build my own), politics, cooking, photography, art, travelling, charity.

I tend to get amazed by small, everyday things and not that amazed by big sights.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music a lot. I just returned from my 8th Roskilde Festival. Highlights from this year: Django Django, The Roots, Bruce Springsteen, M83, Mew, Alabama Shakes, Owiny Sigoma Band, The Cure, Dr. John, Amadou & Mariam and Jupiter Okwess International.

For movies as for music goes: Critics' opinions weigh more than Average Joe's. Seriously. There is a reason why they get paid to tell me their opinion.

I just watched UP for the second time. It made me cry. Again.

Top-three books at the moment are: Hærværk by Tom Kristensen, The Idiot by Dostojevskij and Extremely close and incredibly loud by Jonathan Safran Foer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed the outside of a church's tower in St. Petersburg. I'm afraid of heights.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lonely Planet tells lies.

Arua in northwestern Uganda is a peaceful and fantastic place. And it has the best indian restaurant i've ever visited.

Spiders are a sign of a healthy indoor climate.

Countries I’ve Visited

Uganda, United States
