About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to move to NYC and work as an actress

ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England, and recieved my MA from the University of the West of England. I am returning to NYC now to act. I went to undergrad in NYC at Barnard and graduated from Columbia in 2010. Since then I've gotten to travel around the world to many amazing places in Europe, East Asia, Southeast Asia. I've traveled to 17 different countries and territories and have very gratefully used couchsurfing on my travels! I've also been a host while I lived in Colorado and was very active in the Denver, CO couchsurfing scene. In my experience, Couchsurfers are the best, they are kind, generous, compassionate people, who believe in creating a better world.
Previously I've also worked as a Researcher in Psychology and Public Policy and taught theater and dance, and am an ex-professional dancer.
I find that in the US, sometimes, culture can be very homoginized and ethnocentirically focused on America as the center of the world, so I enjoy visiting other countries and cultures. (Although I particularly love NYC for being one of the most diverse places I've lived in the US!) I myself, am bi-racial, multi-ethnic and multicultural and seek diversity and new experiences in life. I aim to be a well-informed, interested, generous, kind and compassionate person. I sincerely want to contribute to the world and help make it a better place. I love stories. I absolutely love to laugh. My family is probably the most important thing to me.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is still a work in progress... for now i'm committed to trying new things and learning new things. I am generally very positive about life and people and try as a personal policy to stay open to any new experience that doesn't threaten my safety. I try to love myself and love others. I try to keep a balanced, realistic perspective about life when things get hard, because somehow, someway I believe things will work out in life. I am realist and a romanticist both at the same time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf, host, and particpate a lot in my local Denver, CO couchsurfing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined couchsurfing in May 2010 and surfed when I traveled Europe during the summer. Then I became a host and hosted people at my home in Colorado and became very active in the Denver Couchsurfing community participating in events, hosting parties, making invaluable connections with other couchsurfers. Currently, I am in NYC trying to find an apartment and am seeking the reciprocal hospitality and generosity of couchsurfers while I hunt. I've had few negative and mostly, amazingly, wonderful experiences while couchsurfing. I very much appreciate what the couchsurfing community stands for; ambassadorship, sharing, teaching, learning, peaceful and positive exchange.
