About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To send ten thousands smiles across the world :)
ABOUT ME
We are Alicja and Mikolaj, 26 and 28, from Gdansk, Poland (birthplace of Solidarity and Lech Walesa :)
One would say we are really opposites - fire and earth, volcano and lake, extravert and introvert, Tom and Jerry..
This would be true, but a far better picture of us would be painted if we said that we stand united in our quest to explore the world and help others :))
Alicia crying watching movies for kids ;) our son doesn't...
We are optimistic and we believe that if you share kindness and good energy - the world becomes a little bit better. Just a little bit - but still - all the small pieces count!
We really enjoy getting to know people from all around the world - and - if time permits - showing others our local neighbourhood (if somebody comes to Gdansk and is not put off by the fact we have a 5 year old hyperactive child, that is :) However, we don't take him with us when we travel, don't worry.
We also have two sweet Persian cats - we don't take them with us either ;)
We love nature too, we like to sleep in a tent from time to time etc :)
PHILOSOPHY
Simply - be a good person and spread happiness. Help others.
We would like to start our own foundation/charity when we are in our 40s or so.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are outbound travellers mostly, but from time to time we will be happy to host someone (especially if our son is away e.g. with his grandparents).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No true couchsurfing experience - yet!
Till now we have mostly used backpackers' hostels and our cosy tent :)
Mikolaj has managed to sleep at construction sites, at bus stops, next to tennis courts in the middle of a city and we have both slept in many 'green'-ish areas. Alicja has built and slept in wooden cottages in forests!
Interests
Animals, books, friend get-togethers, cycling, sun, marvellous landscapes, nature, peace, corelation between action and reaction in our lifes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many? :) THE most favourite: Jeffery Deaver books, The Songs of Ice&Fire, r'n'b and lounge music, dancehall and jazz (did we mention we are opposites? :) and so on..
We don't have a TV ourselves - by choice - but we like good movies with a nice storyline.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Miko: Still an open chapter, maybe some of the things we have done or seen could be regarded as such - but we believe we have still more to do to earn such a bookmark.
So we discount skydiving & landing e.g. in a farmer's field across a motorway during a first skydive or cycling (racing) in thunderstorms and such.. ;)
Alicia: Amazing is friendship between human and pet. Watching how the relationship and trust is growing. How the small and gentle touch can be relaxing and you know your pet is happy.
Also smiles stranger people when you trying to help them by carrying bags, or tell them where to go when they get lost.
Amazing thing is a smell of morning on a small village when I spent vacation almost every year as a child. And bird songs there...
