About Me
RESIDING IN SZEGED
From September 2019 I spend most of my time in Szeged, on the Serbian border, I am in the capital on weekends. Read the "My Home" section before messaging me please:)
Hey, I'm Miksa, 20-year-old guy from Hungary. I live near Budapest, our capital, and I visit and explore the big city almost every day. I graduated in one of the top high schools there with great results, but you know, these are cool but not the most important.
I'm deeply interested in understanding the human body and mind--that's why I decided to learn Biology at university. I intend to immerse myself in the world of lab research, and I'd like to deepen my understanding of psychology as well. Practicing meditation is helping me on this journey.
I'm willing to try new things, that's how development happens. Learning a language, traveling by hitch-hike, approaching strangers, engaging in debates and deep conversations, asking questions, reading books and not being afraid to say yes challenges and broadens my worldview.
I do sports and most of my food is cooked at home, so health for me, for a sustainable life, is important, but I don't bitch if I don't get the best. Growing up without much money made me appreciate everyday things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The way I like to travel is a way of reciprocation. Traveling is a chance to get and give help, hospitality and our services to one another, to enrich the lives of ourselves and other people via these transactions, and in my view, this is kind of karmic.
In the last few years, I undertook 2 cross-continental hitch hike trips from Budapest, one to Trieste, Italy and the other to Amsterdam. Traveling as a high school student on a very limited budget, I relied solely on the services of nice strangers to get to my destination. Some of them even gave me things like food, money, gifts or a truck bed, amazing. In September 2019, I volunteered in a tiny Spanish village, at El Camino, accommodating and taking care of the pilgrims already half way through their journey. My current summer job is similar--I host travelers, usually young backpackers on Airbnb (with a company, not in my own apartment). Over the years, my philosophy had developed, which is why I care about making sure each and every one of the guests I host receives the attention and kind hospitality that I have been given on my trips.
Couchsurfing fits well into this picture. Earning your trust to give me free accommodation must be a great feeling for me, and I hope that this gives you something as well. I also hope that, when traveling, you'll also be given back the support.

Pieces of art that make me think&remember them later. Yea, this isn't so specific, but I really care more about quality than content. I hate pop.
