About Me

I am an ethnic minority called Uyghur(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uyghurs) from Urumqi, Xingjiang, China. I am currently a clinical research assistant at a hospital in Boston, MA. To me, traveling to new places is the same as reading a new book or watching a new movie, all three feel like opening new doors for exploration of different aspects of the world. Growing up in a multi-culture environment, I have developed genuine interest in learning about more cultures. Couchsurfing is such a great platform to meet awesome people and I believe staying with local is the best way to travel around the world. I am an open minded person and have high level of curiosity for knowing things to deep cores. Meanwhile, I am a calm and gentle person and I like listening to others' stories attentively as well as sharing mine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got to know Couchsurfing through my friend Nurshat who visited Boston last year and stayed at a host's place. I came from my school to meet him and ended up getting along well with the host and other couchsurfers thus per the host's offer, I stayed at theirs for a night. We have all become friends since then and still keep in touch with each other. I was fascinated by the welcoming nature of Couchsurfing thus decided to join the team. I would love to meet more new people, and while saving travel expenses on one hand, learning more about new cultures and sharing what I have to offer are the main reasons to be on Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all type of music as long as it has nice melody and lyrics to it. Uyghur music is my favorite since I grew up listening to it. Other wise, most piano and saxophone music soothes my mind. Most Turkish and French music are amazing too.
Movies, I love suspense movies as well as comedies. "Get out","Les Misérables", "Despicable me" "Her" etc. I used to be a movie fan but now I watch way less than I used to.
Books, Milan Kundera's collections are my favorite. La dame aux camellias by La dame aux camellias, The Kte Runner by Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say traveling around China with friends before coming to the US.
Kayaking and fishing with friends in the ocean. Even though it may sound simple but to me it was an amazing experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

First of all, I can teach you languages that I speak fluently. As I love cooking, I can share some of my recipes with you. Uyghur, Chinese, even some American dishes. I would love to learn about your cooking interests if you have any.
Secondly, I am more than willing to share my life experiences and lessons I have learned as I lived in a different country and difference regions of this country for more than 20 years. I would love to share how life has taken me to the position where I am at right now. Also about how I have developed deep appreciation for life and for people around me.
Finally, I can tech you Uyghur singing and dancing!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Culture, Music, almost everything that I have to offer

Countries I’ve Visited
