ABOUT ME

I recently finished my study and I am proud to announced that I am now a Doctor in chemistry! Whatever I always found titles totally useless, I feel like I don't know anything about anything and I have still everything to learn :) Which is a sweet feeling as it means that I am still walking on a path and did not reach the end yet.

I grow up in a Multicultural city and environment which made me very curious about other cultures and way of thinking.
My father is Albanian and my mother is German, so I'm a proof that a mix a total different cultures can work well and produce beautiful things (haha).

I like sharing strange stories of travels with couch-surfers and learn about all the different ways of traveling. I also used to improvising music with my flatmates (we were playing in the same band) when "outsider" came to play with us, it was always very inspiring so, I'm really looking forward for such musical experience !

Writing about yourself is always difficult and pretty useless, you already have some clue of who I am, so you ill have to make your own opinion for the rest !

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a person with principles but open to all philosophy which can make me wiser. I'm everything except lazy, all the time running everywhere, but on the other side I am able to appreciate calm and relax moment :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to host and surf a lot a couple of years ago but stopped to focus on other things and also because I did not really have my own living place.
For the upcoming years I will mostly stay in my home town (Brussels) but I'll also spend time in Heidelberg. So will see how it goes.

Interests

Playing music ( guitar, singing, percussion). I have learned to play by myself so I may have a strange way of playing the instrument :p Let say I'm more like improvising instead of playing well known songs for example.

I´m a pretty sportive guy, I can play volley ball, soccer, basket ball and a lot of other things. I´m also really into martial art: I have been practicing Kung-fu for 15 years (I'm a black belt he he), I did some boxing, capoera and also Jiu-Jitsu

Traveling (I traveled in almost all the country of the E.U, China, Mongolia, Russia, Canada and in the U.S), I did some hiking in the north of Sweden and in the Italien Alpes a couple of years ago and more recently in California.

Science: Some people (like my brother who is a musician and don't understand the beauty of science) say that science has ruined the beauty of the mystery of some phenomena by revealing their secrets. For me, it's like the mystery has been moved but it is still there !

Music, Movies, and Books

-Music: I love experimental, psychedelic rock music like Black Rebel Motorcycle club, Tool, Mars Volta, A perfect circle, The Black Angel, Myslovitz, Grails, Pink Floyd, Einsturzende neubauten, Antichronique, The Doors, Led Zepplin and many other rock bands. I recently started to listen to a wide range of genre (electro, soul, ...) so I'm pretty open. Those days I listen to dub electro, trip hop and other stuff (I am not really good with genre which I thing does not have a real meaning) like Nujabes, High Tone, Ez3kiel, Chinese Man, Fat freddy's drop, etc
I also really like mongolian, indian, arabic music and Traditional Folk music in general.

-Movies: Wild rider, Fight Club, Snatch, The Lord Of The Ring, Memento, Usual Suspect, ... I like watching movies time to time but I am not a cinema fan.

Books: I love SF stories like Hyperion, Ubik, most book of Bernard Werber and S.K Dick ...
I like books which show you different point of view of things we are use to see always in the same way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rough camping in china, sleeping in the street of Moscow by minus 5 degree, bicycle in the motorway during a cycle trip from Brussel to Amsterdam, camping in the beautiful Mars like landscape of Utah and many other things of whom I am ashamed of :p

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you martial art, guitar, bass, drums and percussions and of course french :)
Iy you are interested I can also try to bring you some insight into the quantum world ! (I am doing research in the field of quantum chemistry ^^)

I would really like to improve my German and learn Japan and/or Chinese !
