About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find couches willing to accept my body into them. I haven't surfed much before, I've hosted a few times. I'm getting into scuba diving and all the diving takes place in Monterrey which is sooooo expensive to rent a room! Would love to find a nice host willing to accommodate a scuba newbie

ABOUT ME

Husband and wife, (wife is the scuba-newb) living in Alameda, working our desk jobs, trying to break out and explore life more after having a "little one" that kept us pretty limited in options for a few years. Husband is into Muy Thai, I'm into Scuba and yoga. and photography.

PHILOSOPHY

It is said that in the pre-dawn hours, just before the first thread of light, there is a gentle breeze that encircles the earth. Always traveling just ahead of the light, it is the harbinger of dawn.

This is the world that sufism opens up. The world of things so 'latif', so subtle that one has to become very still and quiet to catch them. Getting that still is the meaning of Surrender. Getting that still is the meaning of Peace.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Count of Monte Cristo (book, not the movie....) The life of PI (haven't actually seen the movie) The Unexpected Universe, Ender's Game, Misc Things, Environmental and social documentaries

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hm, not much really. I grew up as an American Sufi Muslim, which tended to put me on the outside of most things. But it gave me a unique experience and appreciation for life and the unseen grace of the universe that moves around us. (God I sound like such a hippie....)

Teach, Learn, Share

People that have traveled, and have lived a life outside of our normal consumer culture. People who are open and intrigued by life's mysteries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My quiet sense of awkwardness....
