Hi! My name is Milan, 31 years old, from the Netherlands. I am a fond traveler and always like to meet new people and learn about different cultures.

I work for a Czech NGO, doing humanitarian relief work. I’m traveling frequently to our different projects in Africa, and will be in Prague occasionally as well. Looking forward to make some new friends in the places I’ll be :)

I think I am a social, friendly and reliable person, with broad interests. I am organized and practical thinker, but also open to ideas.

My hobbies are climbing, hiking and other active sports. When traveling I prefer to leave the touristic things aside and go for the path less traveled, which often leads to the most rewarding experiences.

I'm a bit of an environmentalist (nothing extreme), but try to cut down on my own waste, consumption (I'm vegetarian) and energy usage.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

In september '15 I started a big travel through Asia and the Middle east. I started off by taking the Trans Siberian railway from Moscow to Mongolia. Next I experienced the massive country of China and hiked around in the Himalayas of Nepal. I've been to the chaotic but amazing country called India and made a quick visit to Thailand too. In the final months I traveled through the middle east: Oman, Iran, Jordan and Palestine. The friendlyness and hospitallity of the people here blew my mind.

This whole trip would not have been half as amazing if I had not met so many cool people that shared with me their culture. I realized how many amazing people there are on this world, Couchsurfing is definitely a great way to meet those people.

You can talk about basically anything with me. I have a very broad range of interest, and always like to learn new things. Science, politics, religion, music, traveling, video games, outdoor sports, history, you name it!

My musical taste is very broad too. Basically from classical to hard electronic music and (almost) everything in between. A handful of my favorite artists: Underworld, Faithless, Goldfish, Chicane, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Stromae, Tiësto, Moby, Simple Minds, M83, Prodigy. Love to discover new music!
