Overview
About Me
I’m a thoughtful and grounded traveler who also enjoys hosting, with a genuine interest in cultural exchange and meaningful connection. Living near the Canadian Rockies has shaped my appreciation for nature, balance, and experiencing places at a slower, more intentional pace. I value respectful, open-minded interactions and believe travel is most rewarding when it’s centered on people rather than itineraries. Whether hosting or being hosted, I enjoy quiet conversations, shared meals, and exchanging perspectives that make travel feel personal and enriching.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing to experience travel through people rather than places alone. I value meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and the chance to see a destination from a local perspective. For me, Couchsurfing is about building genuine connections, sharing stories, and creating experiences that feel personal, respectful, and memorable beyond the usual tourist path.
Interests
I enjoy an active, outdoor-focused lifestyle that includes kayaking, cycling, snowshoeing, and open-road travel on motorcycles and electric rideables. I’m also into drone and FPV flying, spending time outdoors with my dog, and connecting with people through meaningful conversations and cultural exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Classic rock and timeless sounds with depth, character, and strong storytelling
Books: Self-help and spirituality, especially works focused on personal growth, mindfulness, and self-awareness
Movies: Thoughtful, dialogue-driven films that explore relationships, life, and human connection in a reflective and understated way
My taste leans toward things that are meaningful, calm, and introspective rather than loud or fast-paced.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing (and completely unplanned) experience I’ve had was accidentally hosting around 14 international exchange students in a small two-bedroom apartment I shared with my roommate while I was in college. I was broke, barely managing daily expenses, and this was almost two decades ago; well before Couchsurfing, social media, or even widespread internet use. What started as a spontaneous situation turned into one of the most memorable gatherings of my life: people from different countries, sharing food, stories, laughter, and ideas late into the night. Looking back, it feels like an early, organic version of Couchsurfing... random, human, and deeply meaningful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy exchanging stories, ideas, and perspectives shaped by different cultures and life paths. I’m always open to learning how others see the world and sharing insights from my own experiences when useful. Whether through conversation, shared time, or small everyday moments, I believe meaningful exchange happens most naturally when it’s unforced and genuine.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy sharing travel stories, ideas, and perspectives, and I’m always happy to contribute in simple, thoughtful ways—whether that’s helping out, preparing something together, or exchanging local insights. I’m comfortable with both meaningful conversation and quiet independence, and I aim to make each stay feel easy, positive, and mutually enjoyable.
