ABOUT ME
Student. Daughter. Sister. Friend. Dreamer. Planner. Discoverer. A Pragmatic-Idealist.
I am and always will be a work in progress. Always learning about "me," always growing into "me" and excited for the many ways that life colors and fills my identity. There is so much in the world to experience and appreciate and I want so much to engage in its beauty. Life is a truly amazing gift and one to be cherished and experienced vibrantly!
PHILOSOPHY
Seek what's beautiful in life and lose yourself there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've joined some CS groups since becoming a CS member. I'm hoping through them to learn about others and their experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for a week in Azua, DR during my spring break 2010. It was a great experience to be taken into someone's home! I felt like a part of their family by the end of the week.
I also couchsurfed twice in Washington, DC this year. I went down for a conference and luckily two different students let me stay with them. They were both so wonderful! They helped me navigate the city and hung out with me. It was really great to see the city through their eyes.
I'll be couchsurfing again this summer for two months while staying with a family in Mexico. I have no idea who they are yet. Still being matched with a family, but looking forward to meeting them and experiencing their lives!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I witnessed the decline and ultimate death of my father. He died from complications of pneumonia after years of living (more like deteriorating) with chronic sarcoidosis. It was the most humbling, lonely, powerful experience of my life. I think only witnessing the birth of a child could match or exceed the complexity and intensity of what I experienced with my father and the emotions that succeeded it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to help someone learn Haitian Creole. That would be great practice for me. I'd also love to practice Spanish with someone. I fear I'm losing the language :(
