Overview
About Me
I am a 22 year old economics student currently living in London, where I have been for the past 2 years - previous to this I have grown up in Norwich, Norfolk a city a few hours from London, with my parents house being to the south of the city in a small village, surrounded by many many farms, fields and forests's!
I have backpacked Europe twice, once doing so with a friend (2012) & another time taking a solo trip (2013), before I started my university studies I completed a business management diploma, after this I spent 4 months (2014) living and working on a summer camp in New York, USA as a general assistant around camp, helping in the office as well as general duties.
Upon completion of my degree in June 2017, I plan to move to Tokyo or Osaka for a year where I intend to teach English for a year before starting my career back in London (or where I end up residing!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Previously I have only and always stayed in hostels on my various backpacking trips, doing so you never stop hearing about couchsurfing this and that from all the travellers you meet. I planned to use this earlier but I haven't had an appropriate trip where the need has arisen.
I am flying to Hong Kong on 30th August 2016, where I plan to backpacking up the east coast and surrounding areas of China for 2/3 weeks, I plan that this trip i'll finally be able to use couchsurfing, meet locals and discover what I have been missing out on!
Interests
My main 3 interests are fashion, politics and music - I am very engrossed in the fashion world, with a large amount of creative friends & in local groups of people who work in or have previously helped out fashion designers with shows. It is something I am very much interested and keep up to date with.
I am as well an active society member of our politics group at university where I have been since starting university, making the past month for myself a very interesting time for being so engrossed in politics, from the UK's decision to leave the EU and the current Labour party struggles or the US presidential race where Trump is the nominee, how scary some events are, all are frankly interesting to be occurring in the currently world.
Going hand in hand with my economics degree, I strive to keep up to date with the latest financial and economic news around the world, I have a strong interest in all current affairs for which I enjoy debates with friends and acquaintances on.
Lastly a top interest of mine the all and everything about music, I have a strong varied taste from 140 bpm Berlin industrial techno or some lighter classical Beethoven or Bach, I enjoy visiting festivals in the UK as well as abroad (just got back from Awakenings in Amsterdam), I have as well loads of industry friends in the London scene.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The past summer I was given the opportunity to work as an artist liaison officer at a local large London festival - basically meaning I would transports act from arriving the festival to the stage they are going to play, ensuring they are happy throughout and have all they need and returning them back to the artist accreditation area to leave when they wish. All this basically means is RUNNING A LOT. I have never probably walked/ran so much in my life, but apart from this it is probably the most amazing experience I have had locally. I was very lucky to have insider friends who were able to put me up for this (even though I have never done it in my life!) - I wasn't sure what to expect but when you get handed a list of your favourite DJs/Artists, a list of there mobile phone numbers and rider requirements .. it is pretty easy to be a bit overwhelmed what is actually going on! Luckily, all the artists were super nice and kind people, it was great to meet and chat to these people you just see online or listen to there music, to see they are actually very kind hearted and nice people, it is an amazing experience I would love to try again.
