Overview
About Me
My name is Milena and I am a children's book illustrator from Bulgaria. I am crazy about travelling and I am always looking for an opportunity and time to travel, visit new places and meet people. I am an artist, so cultural point of travelling is my goal most of the time - museums, galleries, architecture - my thing.
I have learned to travel just with a backpack, because it's easier, cheaper and faster. Also I am always happy to meat local people, so Airbnb and guesthouses are much more preferred then luxury hotels and spas :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Two main things - people and money - and I am honest about it. Sometimes a destination can be very overwhelming because of the accommodation prices and when there are people who are happy to welcome you in their private home and life, this changes the whole travel, trip and experience.
I am very grateful to all the people I have met till now, and I hope to meet many more in future :)
Why I don't host? Because I don't live near a city and getting to my home is an adventure on its own. So I cannot pay back with a couch on my own, but I am always willing to take you on a walk in Sofia :)

Music, Movies, and Books
oh, this is a hard question... I used to listen to rock and metal music, but not such a mad fan any more. I prefer more melodic "radio" music with old songs - G'n'Roses, Scorpions, ABBA, Boney M, such things...
Movies - we definitely watch a lot of movies - all kind of IMDB movies over 6,5 stars. We don't have a limit there - romantic, drama, thriller - as long as it's a good movie.
Books... ah... as I said I am a children's book illustrator, so children's books are a priority. My boyfriend is more thriller Jo Nesbø type of reader.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing... I finished my PhD in the official deadline, this was the thing I have been doing for the past 3 years. Beside that - I managed to stick to art despite all the downs, downs and downs I had in the beginning, but I didn't give up. But for the past 5-6 years all is going smooth and even GREAT! :)
