I'm from Brussels, so I do like beers and fries, having a good laugh and exchange stories about life, failures, travels, and everything else pretty much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly because I've come to the realisation that travels are always much more memorable when you meet and get the chance to actually talk to people you probably would never have met otherwise.
I'm always happy to share a discussion, a meal, or even just a beer or a coffee, as long as I get to learn someone/something new.
I had great experiences (pre COVID times) and we couchsurfed again with my sister here in Japan, and it was really one of our highlights of our time together.

Interests

Philosophy, history, movies and series...Pretty standards, but I don't like to take them, and myself, too seriously. I like deep topics with a twist of irony and derision.

Almost everything in music, from folk traditional Celtic music, to US rap. Not a fan of metal though.
Big Jane Austen fan, and Dostoevsky when I'm moody. Lots of unknown french authors as well.

Went on my first school trip with my students last year. It was full of emotions to say the least.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk for hours about french literature, philosophy and history (the topics I teach to reluctant teenagers), and I am interested in whatever the person opposite me is passionated about. Interest makes people interesting I think.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good talk, I value myself to be a good listener and I have a fairly ok sens of humour. I'm not the best cook but I'll be happy to make something not too elaborated but tasty. The general idea is to spend a chill but nice moment with my host.
