Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During April I am taking a work-related trip to Paris and have allotted myself a couple weeks of vacation in Europe. I'll be traveling alone and it would be nice to meet some local people.

I'm an outdoorsy person. I spend my weekends camping, sailing, and freediving mostly in California.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an amazing backpacking trip in Denali National Park in Alaska. A friend and I planned an ambitious 10-day back country hiking trip through the park. The first day we forded a meandering glacial river and hiked across boggy tundra. The second day, my friend awoke to a strained leg, so we had to go back to the park visitor center. He flew home and I spent the rest of the trip solo. I booked a minimal campsite for the remainder of the trip and went on day-trips throughout the park. It was fantastic. I summitted a glacier, saw bears, moose, and caribou, and spent my nights reading under the midnight sun.
