About Me
Life is too interesting to just pick one thing: that's why I've always done at least 3 at the same time! I've been a teacher, a fashion blogger, an eBay reseller, a YouTuber... and those were just my side hustles.
Having graduated as a structural engineer, I quickly realised it wasn't right for me. I missed being creative and working with people directly. That's how I decided to start my own business, helping business owners with their social media strategy. In the process, I uncovered that the aspects I loved helping with the most were overcoming mindset-related challenges: being confident on camera, charging money for your services, sharing your authentic self online etc. As someone who went from being super shy and quiet to having a YouTube channel and meeting new people every day, I uncovered a niche for myself.
For 3 years, I loved the freedom of being an entrepreneur, and living a more digital-nomad lifestyle. But I missed working in a team, so about 6 months ago I joined a small, mission-driven company that allows me to combine everything I enjoy doing - and get paid for it! Today I am career and mindset coach, and I help people return to their career in tech after having a break. I can honestly say I jump out of bed in the morning, because I love what I do both at work and in my business - so you won't hear me complain about how my job sucks!
I get easily excited about everything and I enjoy exploring new places. I believe the best surprises are often found in the hidden, less explored, 'ordinary' parts of a place. Some of my favourite hidden gems were found completely randomly, as I was just walking around - so if you are someone who can show me your favourite places in your city, I will always prefer it over something touristy!
Despite being in social media, I like to think I'm not attached to my phone - I actually consider it a great sign of respect if someone can have a meal with me without looking at their phone all the time! I do enjoy taking photos, though!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I loved the idea of sharing your living space with other, unfamiliar people. It makes you vulnerable but also gives you such an exciting opportunity to connect with people you may never meet otherwise.
You can probably guess by what I do, but I enjoy meeting new people, getting to know them and finding things we have in common. I'm fascinated by the variety of human experience and would love to hear your stories!
I've been hosted a few times and I loved the experience of sharing stories (and a fair drink or two) with my hosts. There's something fascinating about meeting people, especially locals, and seeing a place from their perspective.
I've hosted a few travellers as well and it's always been a pleasure to get to know someone new - so if I can show you the place I currently call home, I'd be delighted to!
Interests
I like writing, taking photos and finding my own spots in different countries and cities. I love the feeling of belonging into a country that is so so far from your own home.
I'm a huge foodie - I love exploring other cultures and finding the best places to eat!
I'm also quite interested in learning new languages - I want to learn a few words in your language (and not only curses ;) )
You'll often find me doing large jigsaw puzzles on the floor!
I love trying out new sports (and possibly being really bad at them :D)
Also, I tend to try different flavours of ice-cream - it's a separate interest.
I am obsessed with miniatures (seriously, how cool are the mini models of cities, churches and other amazing buildings - I can just look at them for hours)
Last but not least, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan!

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently:
Books: I read a lot of personal development and business books - some favourites are Atomic Habits, Breaking the habit of being yourself, anything by Brene Brown; fiction-wise, I like thrillers and crime novels, anything by Sydney Sheldon; and some of the funny chic-lits from the likes of Sophie Kinsella and Lindsey Kelk
Movies: I like a good comedy or action; some favourites include Ocean's 11, Inception, Adjustment Bureau, Mean Girls, and so many more. I don't enjoy horrors because I tend to not sleep for 2 days after!
TV Series: Suits, Friends, The Good Place, Jane the Virgin (and a lot more, I like watching series!)
Music: open to almost everything that has a nice rhythm
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved on my own 10,000 km from home to do an exchange year in Singapore.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm open to share my recommendations about where to go and what to do in Southeast Asia
Having a gold medal or two from Maths and Linguistics international olympiads, I guess I can teach you a few tricks with numbers or help you with sharing the bill ;)
I could also help you with any fashion / makeup / beauty related stuff if that is your calling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a proud Bulgarian I can show you how to dance our traditional dances, prepare Shopska salad (I promise you'll love it), and answer all your questions from where Bulgaria is (no, it's not in Africa), to why we throw napkins at clubs and learn to drink from the age of 12 :D
I can also share my stories about living abroad, travelling to lets say unusual places like Kazakhstan and Siberia, and a lot more!
