About Me

"I wanted to pursue photography because after all the things I've done in my life, after all the places I've been and people I've met and skills I've learned, I still have so much more to learn. Photography for me is my way to reach people, to say "you can do this too if you believe in yourself and never accept NO for an answer". Visual media is such a huge and powerful tool and outlet for so many people, especially in our ever growing digital age. It won't be easy, it's not supposed to be, and you will have to push yourself far beyond your limits but in the end you will be a far better person than you were when you started. I'm not an optimistic person, I'm a realistic person, and the reality that life has taught me is that there is nothing I can't do. But first I have to just do it. Life is a fight against laziness and complacency. You can be complacent and just float through life or you can be a person who takes that shit by the horns and wrestles it to the ground. No matter how long, no matter how hard or "impossible" it might seem, I will persevere." - Justin Von Braun

Music, Movies, and Books

That depends on my mood. Recently I've been listening to Faith Marie, Nothing but Thieves and Bring me the Horizon a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2007 Justin was in a serious car accident that tore his left arm off and crushed the left side of his body. He was paralyzed from the waist down and died 3 times in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. 21 surgeries later his left arm was reattached and after 2 years of rehabilitation he could walk normally again and had regained most of the function in his left arm.
This was a pivotal moment for Justin because as a child he had suffered from Asperger's syndrome and severe depression and had often been told he'd never amount to anything. Those years of struggle and trial as a child taught Justin one irreplaceable truth - You are only limited by yourself. Justin often says "Do not tell me what I cannot do" because he has proven time after time that he will pursue and persevere through any struggle life throws at him because he refuses to believe there is nothing he can't accomplish that he sets his mind to.

Formed in 2014, Milk Skin Photography specializes in capturing images in a style that is modern yet timeless, interesting and vibrant, with a focus on exhilarating moments and pure fun. Justin uses his years of experience, skills and knowledge as a graphic designer to ensure your photos are exactly the way you want them to be.

Photography is a lifelong passion for Justin and this is reflected in his stunning images.
