ABOUT ME

ALL about me... That´s a really big question and will take all to long. But i will try to give you the short version!
Yeah, where to start. I finished my high school around four years ago. Since then I have pretty much been traveling a lot, only coming home to work to save money for more travels. There was also a brief period during which I got some basic military training.
But I LOVE to travel and like most of you guys already know, once you start you can't stop, so why not keep going? I have been on a trip around the world since March 2010, and it will continue indefinitely. My plan is to come home at least in time for my studies which start September 2011.
More specifics about my personality: I would define myself as a very easy-going person - I can get along with, more or less, any type of person. If I had to choose three words to describe myself they would be: Thinking, Trustful and Party..
I think a lot about everything, maybe too much sometime, but I can´t stop.
For me trust is one of the most important things, I would never promise anything and not keep it or let my friends down, I'm very protective of my close friends.
Finally, I like to party, drinking beer at a bar, on the beach, on a balcony, at a football match (soccer). For all kinds of occasions; because the sun is shining, because it's Christmas, or it's happy-hour. These are things I like to do and do a lot, if i find people around me who like to do these things too.

PHILOSOPHY

There is a reason that philosophy has been a lifetime occupation for a lot of really intelligent people on this earth. It´s such a big question with just as many answers.
The reasons i love to travel the most, is that it helps me to put this question into another perspective, because I learn, see and meet something/someone new all the time. This is why, through my travels, my life philosophy and world view have changed a lot from what they were a year ago, and will keep changing
What it is right now? Still a big question. To generalize it's just to be happy, have fun and enjoy life, while still taking care of the world and the people close, around, and far away from you. Live you life today and forget the words I should, could and would have forever...
It can be hard to practice all this to the fullest everyday, but but it's definitely my ideal and what I try to do!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have always been fascinated about the couch surfing idea, but never tried it or set up a profile. Now that I'm finally a member of this society I hope it will bring me lots of new friendships and open up new experiences to me around the world. Right now I will try to be the best guest that I can be, and learn, so that I can be an even better host once I am home and able to offer my couch for adventurers and travelers from around the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just joined, so I don't have any experience yet with this website. But I have couch surfed independently many times on couches of friends and friends of friends around the world, and I really love this way of traveling. Hopefully I will get lots of experience to share it with all of you.

Interests

All my biggest interests in life are social activities (maybe except for my running which I normally prefer to do alone, but don´t really practice when i´m traveling:-)). Hang out with my friends, work, run and party are more or less my everyday life back home.
When im travelling the work and the running get swapped for meeting new people, seeing new cultures, exploring the outdoors and observing the everyday life in the respective country im in. The habit of hanging out with my friends (now those i meet on the way) and partying don´t really change!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cannot choose!

Teach, Learn, Share

The song "There's Hope" by Indie Arie means a lot to me and puts some of my philosophy into words. Hopefully its message will touch all of you too:

Back when I had a little
I thought that I needed a lot
A little was over rated,
but a lot was a little too complicated
You see-Zero didn't satisfy me
A million didn't make me happy
That's when I learned a lesson
That it's all about your perception
Hey-are you a pauper or a superstar
So you act, so you feel, so you are
It ain't about the size of your car
It's about the size of the faith in your heart

[Chorus:]
There's hope
It doesn't cost a thing to smile
You don't have to pay to laugh
You better thank God for that

Off in the back country of Brazil
A met a young brother that made me feel
That I could accomplish anything.
You see just like me he wanted to sing
He had no windows and no doors
He lived a simple life and was extremely poor
On top of all of that he had no eye sight,
but that didn't keep him from seein' the light
He said, what's it like in the USA,
and all I did was complain
He said-livin' here is paradise
He taught me paradise is in your mind
You know that

[Chorus]

Every time I turn on the T.V. (There's Hope)
Somebody's acting crazy (There's Hope)
If you let it, it will drive you crazy (There's Hope)
but I'm takin' back my power today (There's Hope)
Gas prices they just keep on rising (There's Hope)
The government they keep on lying
but we gotta keep on surviving
Keep living our truth and do the best we can do

[Chorus]

Stand up for your rights [echo]
Keep shining your light [echo]
And show the world your smile [echo]
