COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard great things about CouchSurfing from friends and had to try it. So far it's been great! What a wonderful way to meet new people and get a different perspective on a city.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw an avalanche in New Zealand!! I was on a hike near Milford Sound, and found a trail with no one else on it. I hike up to a glacial bowl and had lunch by a beautiful lake. After walking around for a while I heard a noise that sounded like an airplane taking off. I looked around, and saw a waterfall of snow falling off one of the peaks on the other side of the bowl. The avalanche lasted longer than I expected; about five minutes. I felt like the most special person in the world, like it all happened just for me.
