À propos de moi

I'm a very ambitious person with big aspirations. I have always been very career minded, but since I began travelling I've relaxed on the pressure from the career ladder.

Exploring new places and meeting new people is so rewarding and has taught me more life lessons than any job ever will.

I also began relearning French in 2016, as I haven't revisited the language since I was at school. Any sort of fluency is a long way off but I'm constantly expanding my immersion methods.
*Progress Update: As of December 2018, I'm currently reading my 4th French book*

I’d like to live in France at some point in the future, so progressing with this language is important me - (Envoyez-moi un message en Français si vous-voulez m’aider )🇫🇷

I left home in March 2017 with a one way ticket to Australia on a 1 year Working Holiday Visa. After that I visited South East Asia for 8 weeks, before arriving in New Zealand (March 2018) to start a Working Holiday in a new country.

I realise everyday that life is short, the world is vast and you can't wait around for the 'right time' to come along. Sometimes you just have to work with what you've got and tell yourself it will all work out if it's supposed to be. Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Expanding my knowledge of languages will be much easier in a conversational format than a textbook and relieves the pressure of learning in a classroom environment. I think it’s important to know the basic’s of the language within any country that you visit.

It's not all about the free couch's, its a chance to learn, grow and conversate with people from all over the world!

Centres d'intérêt

My interests seem to vary and change all the time.
There are so many places in the world and I love it when I get the opportunity to see some of them. Travel to me is appreciating what else is out there in the world... yes cities are amazing, but you soon see most cities in the world work exactly the same as all the others. It's the architecture, the languages, the diversity that are really interesting to me. You can walk down a street and be in total awe of a building, but when you are in your hometown, you are so used to seeing the same streets that you go blind to the things that are there. Appreciate everything no matter how big or small.

I would love to become an online writer of some sort. I did used to write a personal blog / diary when I was at school... Which is still floating around online somewhere for the world to see. I want to write about things that I am passionate about. Not just for the sake of creating a blog. So if/when that idea comes to me, I will grab it with both hands and write about it all! For now though its just dreams and ideas.

Teach - Despite not being a teacher I would be glad to help anyone to practice / learn English. No matter what their level. I know how daunting learning a new language is and putting that into practice is even scarier. Talking is one of the best ways to learn as when you make errors you can be corrected straight away and also learn some alternative ways of saying different things.

Learn - I love learning (attempting to learn) new languages. My french is currently at a B1/B2 level (with questionable grammar). Whilst living with different roomates I have learnt a few words / phrases in German, Swedish, Portugese, Mandarin and Te Reo Māori.
I love learning about languages and cultures, so this would be a great thing for me to learn from you.
