About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world, meet new people and see cool places - to live life to the fullest!

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurous girl with a passion for traveling and an endless hunger to explore the world. Ever since I was a kid I have been into traveling, getting to know different cultures and meeting new people so I have traveled quite a bit and have friends from all over the world. My motto is to live every day to the fullest, to see, feel and experience the world enjoying the small everyday beautiful moments and wild adventures that hide around the corner - if we just keep our eyes open and are brave enough to embrace them.

I also constantly try and learn from new people and different cultures, because I believe we are all connected, no matter where we live or what background we come from. Studying business greatly helped me in this as my studies gave me opportunities to live abroad. During bachelor's degree studies I spent a semester studying in England and as a part of my master's studies I studied in Seattle, the United States. I have met amazing CouchSurfers all around the world and look forward to more great experiences!

PHILOSOPHY

"Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you will die today."
- James Dean

"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
- Jon Krakauer

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After discussing what CouchSurfing is with a bunch of fellow surfers, I realized it is something I have been doing for years, even before joining the community. For as long as I can remember, I have been traveling around staying on friends' couches or giving a place to stay for those visiting in Finland. After being introduced to CouchSurfing, I have both surfed and hosted and met amazing people by traveling around or showing them my home city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have both surfed and hosted and plan to keep on living the CouchSurfing lifestyle in the future too. One of my greatest CouchSurfing experiences was an InterRail trip across Western Europe with a friend of mine, that the people who hosted us made possible, and I'm forever grateful for that. Another great adventure was traveling around the world with just myself and my backpack to hold on to and being hosted by people from NYC and Miami to Vancouver and Bangkok. CouchSurfing is a great way to meet new people, explore the world and share moments that can turn into memories that last for a lifetime.

Interests

Learning new things and working, gym and yoga, wines and good food, different cultures, marketing and business, creative things that make you appreciate the life and its miracles, playing piano and listening to music, traveling and exploring the world, meeting new people and enjoying the everyday beautiful things in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies are a way to relax for me and I love going to the movies with friends, or just watching one at home and spending the evening in a good company. I love all kinds of movies!

Music is, and has always been, very important to me. I have played piano since I was 5 years old and I listen to music daily. Depending on the mood I have, it can be anything from classical to electronic. Music for me is a way to express my feelings and to process them, and if I feel like it, also a way to share them with a special someone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about many instead of just one? Here are some moments that made me feel alive:
- Standing at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher with the wind in my hair in Ireland
- Drinking wine at the banks of Seine in Paris
- Driving down the Route 66, mother of all road trips, from Chicago to LA and visiting places like Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Monument Valley
- Snowmobiling safari in the snowy breathtaking lands in Lapland
- Seeing the Aurora Borealis in Finland
- Visiting the beautiful shrine of Fushimi-Inari Taisha in Kyoto, Japan
- Getting my scuba license and exploring the underwater world in Thailand
- Visiting Colosseum feeling it carrying its past glory and walking the streets of Rome imagining the city like it was back in the days
- Sailing the Baltic Sea in stormy weather
- Trip to climb the Alps in Austria
- Hiking Taal Volcano in Philippines
- Riding a camel across the desert at sunset in Tunisia
- Hearing the monks chant in one of the oldest buddhist temples and visiting the Forbidden City in Beijing, China
- Walking the Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge
- Hiking trip to snowy Mount Rainier in WA, USA
- Visiting the nature and the clear blue waters of the Caribbean in Dominican Republic
- Sailing and enjoying the beautiful nature of Finnish archipelago
- Trying out amazing foods including oysters for the first time and clubbing until dawn inside the ancient walls of Dubrovnik, Croatia
- Neon lights, izakayas and craziness of Tokyo
- Exploring the street food scene in Bangkok

- Bathing elephants and feeding them at an elephant sanctuary near Chiang Mai
- Living abroad and having such amazing group of people around me from different countries that they feel like family

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about the Finnish way of living and the culture, share travel stories about the places I have been to and the words of wisdom I have learnt from my friends around the globe.

I would like to learn more about different countries and cultures, as well as people, because I believe by learning how things are done in other parts of the world you learn new things about not only others but yourself as well.
