About Me

I am a 21 year old engineering student from upstate New York studying in Atlanta, Georgia. I have two brothers and one sister, who are my best buds. My favorite thing to do when travelling to a new place is find a nice place to sit outside, play the ukulele and sing with friends. I really love talking to new people, being outdoors, taking pictures, playing or listening to music, and learning about pretty much anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people, learn about new places, and exchange ideas and stories. My experiences abroad have given me the incredible opportunity to travel around Europe and learn about new cities and cultures, and meet new people. I am couchsurfing because the best times I have had in new cities have been because of the people I am with. I believe that meeting and exploring a new city with the locals will give me a real taste of what life is like in that new place and help me understand the pride and love for a city or country. I would love to be able to experience every place I travel to the way that the locals can and hopefully learn a lot, and make new friends and great memories around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is always changing, but I am currently (and always) obsessed with Frank Ocean, Muse, The Beatles, Childish Gambino, The Avett Brothers, Janelle Monàe, Vampire Weekend, C2C, Queen, Alvaro Soler, The Lumineers, Stevie Nicks, and the list goes on forever, but I pretty much love a lot of music.

Favorite new movie is 'Arrival' - no question, the story is wild. I also just saw Deadpool 2 and was crying from laughing so hard the entire time. Favorite old movies are 'The Departed', 'A Knight's Tale' (classic young, handsome Heath Ledger), and I will always have a place in my heart for 'Good Will Hunting'. I also love all of the Star Wars films, including the new ones, against popular opinion.

Books... another long list. But at the top would be 'The Red Tent' by Anita Diamante, 'Pride and Prejudice', 'The Alchemist', anything by Isabel Allende (my recent obsession), 'Milkweed', 'Zink'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I became great friends with a Turkish girl in my office and we traveled to Neuschwanstein and Salzburg together in one weekend and slept in train stations for two nights straight but still managed to have the most amazing time and see more nature than we had even planned. It was just a perfect trip :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and (hopefully - up to your discretion) some good music to enjoy. I always bring my ukulele anywhere I travel to and love to play and sing with people. I will always be beyond excited to learn about your city, country, culture, and, especially you! (I know that's cheesy, but it's also true). Thanks for reading :)
