ABOUT ME

I love people, music and life in general. I am full of energy and happiness. Very much a sensation seeker, always down to get out of the house and go on an adventure. Very passionate and ethical. Social justice minded. Laid back and very open minded, always looking to have new experiences and see a different side of life. I am also very goofy and am incredibly drawn to weird and random things, and anything that can make me feel confused in an artistic way. Also, f*** Donald Trump, he is a terrible human being.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and traveled. I love showing people around my town when they come stay at my house. I also love getting the insider view of cities when I travel. I will never stay in a hotel again if I can avoid it!

Intereses

I am very driven to experience culture and the aesthetic aspects of life. Music is my main passion, it is what I like to think about, talk about, do with my free time, and usually it defines the kind of people I get along with best. I am particularly fond of nerding out about psychological and sociological aspects of music and music culture. My favorite activity in the world is going to see live music because it allows me to engage in my other two primary passions: dancing and traveling. I am really into social justice, and do social justice work focused on disability and LGBTQ concerns. I also love to play video games, listen to podcasts, eat delicious foods (though I cannot cook), craft, read, snowboard, and meet new people among many other things. I love to spend time with friends and engaging myself in my community. I also love being a Clinical Psychologist. There are very few things that do not grab my attention, I am very open to new experiences and actively seek them out.

Música, películas y libros

I love music, especially underground dance music (no, NOT "edm"), experimental electronic music, lo-fi hip hop, melancholic jazz, minimal classical, bossa nova, and afrobeat. But mainly, I like my music weird and sensual. Noise Porn is a lifestyle. Radiohead was the most formative band in my music career and I will love them until the day I die despite retreating into increasingly obscure forms of music. I love to dance...really really love to dance! I also love reading, especially fiction, Kerouac, Murakami, Rushdie, Robbins, Brautigan are all incredible. I've seen Pink Flamingos more than any other movie and even got to have brunch with John Waters one time!! I pretty much just love to stimulate the senses, and art is my favorite way to accomplish this.

Its hard to pick one, but overall the insane amount of live music I've gotten to see. I regularly travel all over for music. Ive gotten to see amazing underground dance music shows in cities like Detroit, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Knoxville, Asheville, St.Louis, Kansas City, and even a little bit outside of the US like in Mexico. Ive been called a "show rat" on numerous occasions...the point is, I love live music and chasing after underground shows has given me some of the best experiences of my life and let me meet some of the most amazing people....i like it so much I've even thrown a few shows myself and hope to continue now that I am finished with graduate school.

I am extremely interested in learning everything I can about Japanese culture and want to experience everything Japan has to offer from the standard temples, art and music experiences to obscure J-Pop shows in some basement venue and shopping in rural grocery stores. I want to see it all!
