Overview
About Me
Cheese addict.
Yoga ninja.
Modra mačka (Blue cat, in Slovenian).
Hasili Maya (Nepali for Laughing Woman)
These are all names given to me whilst gallivanting. :) I like them all.
I’m surfing these days with my Swiss Italian husband, Massi. Here’s a link to his profile — https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1006740407?utm_campaign=profile_share&utm_source=couchsurfing-ios
I want to spend my life learning. As long as I'm learning, I'm an ecstatically happy lady.
Mostly.
I have a lot of passion.
I find curiosity absolutely irresistible.
I'm discovering the beauty of spontaneity.
I love making things. I love being around people who make things.
My favorite English words are "lugubrious," "evanescent," "lackadaisical" and "quidnunc."
I've recently acquired a somewhat unhealthy addiction to playing the guitar. It makes me unreasonably sad when I'm traveling and have to leave her at home.
I don't like clubs. Or bars, really. In fact, I'm terribly old inside. I have an annoying habit of passing out well before midnight and waking up at ungodly hours (sometimes before the sun), and taking luxurious naps in the afternoon.
I also play a lot of cards and listen to relaxing music and drink red wine.
And I knit. I am a prolific knitter of hats and wrist warmers.
See? Old person.
I adore dinner parties. They may very well be one of my favorite things. Just expect me to pass out on the couch if the party lasts past midnight. I'm like Cinderella that way.
I hate chit-chat.
I love conversations.
I teach vinyasa and yin yoga. I teach acro yoga together with my husband, Massi. The most rewarding feeling in the world is to lead a session and have a student approach at the end and say, "Thank-you -- I needed that."
I walk on clouds for the rest of the day.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive.
~Howard Thurman
A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
~ Albert Einstein
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed and volunteered in Europe, Morocco, Mexico and Guatemala. I hosted in Colorado and Switzerland.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few times and have been blessed with marvelous guests. I've surfed a few times, and have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity and friendliness of the people I was fortunate enough to stay with.
Interests
I love to write. Sometimes I feel like my heart is in my hands and I can only express myself honestly when I write.
Painting is meditation for me. I'm not particularly good, but turning on some music and painting from a picture or a model centers me, focuses me, grounds me.
I could spend the rest of my life reading books about the human mind and never be bored. I'm currently working in a psychiatric clinic and I love every moment of it.
Chocolate is good. Quite good. I do not dislike chocolate.
Cheese is better.
I love to teach yoga and practice massage therapy. I'm interested in anything that helps people feel better. Physically, emotionally, spiritually.
I'm a proper Colorado girl and love my mountains.
But cheese is still better.
My husband is trying to convince me to like motorcycles and adrenaline sports. I’m working on it :P I have my learner’s permit for the motorcycle and I went paragliding for the first time in December of 2019.
But I would still prefer a nice documentary with a good glass of wine.
And cheese.
