About Me

I hope to start a food truck business one day, but until then I'm working for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Program Assistant. I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and served in Senegal, West Africa from 2013-2015 as a business adviser for entrepreneurs and micro-businesses.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people and learning about their country and culture. Couch surfing is a great way to connect with people you never would have before. Plus, I want people to tell me all of their favorite foods/restaurants so I can try them as well.

Interests

Food, music, and travel. That's pretty much what my life revolves around. I actually wanted to work in the music industry or open up my own cafe/bakery/restaurant after graduating from university, but Peace Corps seemed to be the safer alternative.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy pretty much all types of music (don't make me listen to country or opera, though). My music library mainly consists of R&B, pop, blues rock, and 80s and 90s hits.

Movies: I'm a big horror movie buff, but I love all other genres as well. Les Parapluis de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) needs to watched by everyone.

Books: I've been reading alot of satirical books lately (The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is next on my list), but the books I could read over and over again would have to be The Great Gatsby, The Invisible Man, and Never Let Me Go

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed my whole Peace Corps service without getting malaria. I guess the whole learning an obscure language, forming incredible relationships, and immersing myself in a completely different culture was pretty cool as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Culture, stories, thoughts, ideas, anything and everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty good with sharing food (that I buy because I'm not that great of a cook), and I have two years worth of stories of living in Senegal as a Peace Corps volunteer I could also share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Senegal, Slovenia, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
