About Me
ABOUT ME
I love the outdoors, kids, animals, coffee and close friends but it can be hard to track me down because I live in the moment and am never standing still. Catch me in my living room painting trees, in a kitchen canning peaches or on an ultimate frisbee pitch. I mountain bike, ski (of all sorts), garden, and swim as much as possible. By the time I could breathe, I could talk.
PHILOSOPHY
My now deceased black lab, and love of my life, Joey, thought me;
1. Live in the moment. 2. Get stoked over the small things. 3. Be outside as often as possible and as long as possible. 4. Never give up but more importantly never ditch on your friends.
(I do not have a dog now until I find a home to settle down. Four years and counting since he passed and I don't think I have lived in a permanent home for more than five months in that time).
PROFESSION
I'm a teacher and I love it! I love sharing my passion for learning and working with kids. I have taught grades 7,5,4,1 and 2. I mix it up a lot.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have hosted when I had a home to do so in Canmore and Prince George. I have surfed around Canada and New Zeland for the fun of it.
Right now, I'm renting a room and have no option to host.
Interests
I love outdoor pursuits but like to stay safe too. I enjoy skiing, surfing, climbing, hiking, kayaking, diving - you name it! I studied biology because I love the sheer wonder of the natural world. I studied First Nation's studies because I'm committed to reconciliation.
I also love my artistic side and enjoy crafting of all sorts (sewing to cement work). Secret skill: I can pull fun kids crafts out of the air! I started my artistic life with painting and it remains close to the core of my inner artist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not to boast or anything, but I went skiing before I could walk, not gracefully I imagine, but still pretty impressive for a one-year-old.
Also, I have sailed through the Polynesian islands, canoed a great Northern river, and cycled through New Zealand. I lived in Cuba to try and learn Spanish (which I was about as successful at, as a cat would have been).
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn about how you made your life work, with a job and passion included.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always a bottle of wine. Plus, good conversations and free dog walks.
