ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Ming Yin. a Hong Konger. addicted to nature and travel. like camping, hiking, trekking and other outdoor activities. hope one day I could live in a remote place, to have a simple life. Western Tibet is kinda my dream place at this moment.

I worked (also studied) in Germany for 2 years from 2011 to 2013. I lived near to Dortmund. I knew almost nothing about Bundesliga or Dortmund (I normally watched English, Spainish League only) before but since then I became a die-hard BVB dortmund fans.

After Germany, i started my next chapter of my life. That's why i came to Shanghai to work for the same Germany company. I will probably stay here for 1-2 years. Whats next? I dunno, probably go to Tibet to live (and travel) for a while first. I am always longed for a long travel trip (at least a year),but I still couldnt make it. My plan now is to do it before 30. After that, maybe I will do another year of working holiday in Australia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed lots of couches already when I was in Europe. and I will continue to surf when I go travel and host occasionally when I have free time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a numbers of Couchsurfing experience as a surfer. They were mainly in Germany and also some parts of Switzerland and Belgium. As a host I sometimes let my friends to stay at my place, but really rare. As My home in Hong Kong is kinda tiny. However, I have shown some couchsurfers around Hong Kong before.

I am addicted to movies. I like to see all kind of movies from all around the world. My favourite directers include Wong kar wai, Quentin Tarantino, Clint Eastwood and Takeshi Kitano, etc.
Favourite movies genre include road, outdoor, documentary, romantic, etc etc etc.
It would be great if you could recommend me some of your favourite movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

in 2008, I went to Tibet alone just after the incidents happened there. Many people told me it was dangerous but I insisted to get there because it is my dream place. And it turned out to be the most unforgettable jorney in my life

in 2010, I travelled several times in Germany and Belgium by hitchhiking

After a quartar of a century, I am still alive in this crazy wild world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you some tips when you want to go to Hong Kong and teach you Cantonese.
I can give you some local recommendations for restaurants in Shanghai or Hong Kong.
I can also teach you some German if you want.
In return, it will be perfect if anyone can teach me how to cook in their typical ways.
