About Me

update 2024

After nearly four years of practicing Buddhism, I am back on the road to explore places related to Buddhism for pilgrimage.

I travel a lot and have never really settled down, but I have a place in Dali, Yunnan, China. Dali is the most relaxed place in China (also the biggest Vegetarian community), boasting the best weather, wonderful nature, and peaceful people. If you're checking out my profile, you should know that you always have a place to stay at mine.

-

Having traveled to over 30 countries and pursued academia in three disciplines (Finance, Psychology, Anthropology) across four different regions (mainland of China, Taiwan, Australia, UK), I am now seeking to find peace within my heart.

Current(2020): quit my Ph.D programme in Anthropology and currently study Buddhist wisdom full-time.

-

I am both a storyteller and the story. A weird kid with endless curiosity about the world and people, and of cause my self and my soul. A life long time traveller/hitchhiker, a current-anthropology-student, a Buddhist-to-be, a part-time documentary photographer, an intentional community participant and observer.

But I am not your typical traveller, researcher, buddhist or photographic artist, I combine the cold eyes and the warm heart and stay questionning.

And I am also not your typical leftie, "balance" is a keyword to me.

“I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger.”

the following text was written in 2017, things have been changed and many stories happened as well as lots more thoughts and self-reflections have been raised. Will update soon.

Well, its always difficult for me to define who I am by myself, I once thought that everyone is built by their own experiences, so that I tried defining myself with my experiences (Like been to east africa to do anthropological research, hitchhiking more than 10k km, getting involvled in so many social works to help those in need, capture the beautiful moments in normal life blablabla etc. ) but later, I realized that who I am determins what I could see and know at the same time. So, I still can not say who I exactly was or will be, the more I know, the more I don't know, I just still keep trying, and let the experiences shape me.

I talk a lot but not an extrovert.
I am lazy most of the time but enjoy walking/hiking badly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started since I worked on a photographic project about "home of intimacy". I think home is a place which is totally different from other places for us in life, we seem more closed to the one we exactly are when we are home. if one could get a chance to stay in someone' s place, it just like he or she has an entry ticket to enter a world of others.

but the reason why I keep doing it is that I literally meet so many amazing people and learn so much through couchsurfing, and now it is already been part of my life.
