About Me

Hi, I’m Minhui from South Korea.
I’m a traveler who enjoys moving slowly, observing places, and having meaningful conversations with people I meet along the way.

I love walking through neighborhoods, sitting in cafés or bookstores, and spending time in nature while noticing how people live their everyday lives. Rather than visiting many tourist attractions, I’m more interested in the quiet atmosphere of a place and the stories hidden within it.

I’m a food lover and enjoy exploring local cuisine, especially simple, everyday meals. Experiencing food culture, the mood of a meal, and the stories behind it is an important part of traveling for me. I also enjoy movies, music, and writing, and I like collecting small moments that feel beautiful or honest.

I’m a good listener and enjoy conversations about life, dreams, perspectives, and how we grow and change. At the same time, I respect personal space and quiet time. I’m clean, considerate, and always grateful for the opportunity to share a space, even for a short while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling, and whenever I choose a place to stay, I’m naturally drawn to old houses, traditional homes, or places close to local life rather than typical accommodations. I’ve always enjoyed observing how people live and feeling the atmosphere of a place.

Still, even with many travel experiences, I often felt that something was missing. I realized that what I truly wanted was not just a beautiful place to stay, but real connections with local people and meaningful exchanges with those who live there.

That’s why I decided to try Couchsurfing for the first time on this journey. I hope to meet kind people, build genuine connections, and learn through conversations and shared moments. Through these encounters, I’d love to rediscover what makes travel, life, and happiness feel more alive and real.

Music, Movies, and Books

I truly love movies and have watched over a thousand films.
My favorite director is Hirokazu Kore-eda.
Five films I would give five stars to are Fight Club, Billy Elliot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, All About Lily Chou-Chou, and Big Fish.

I also love reading. Some of my favorite books are In the Midst of Life, Flow, and The Catcher in the Rye.
For music, I enjoy pop in general, especially Lady Gaga.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once decided to step away from a stable life to travel alone for an extended period, not to chase highlights, but to understand myself better through different places, people, and rhythms of living. It wasn’t always easy, but it changed how I see life, connection, and what truly matters to me.
