About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make the most out of living and learning in the awesome city of Melbourne!

ABOUT ME

i can be very articulate or simple - never know how much or how little to write in these things...so here goes

in essence, i'm a water baby who loves to explore, learn and enjoy, and share the best of life with everyone i come across.

i love the sunshine, the outdoors, the city/country, and the people in them.

i have a million things to say a day, but i am selective about what i share :)

i try to find one word to describe each city.

i grew up in newcastle, studied politics, sociology and law. worked in multicultural affairs for culture. i am passionate about social justice - and am somehow following this cause.

my family is italian - so i grew up with the food, language etc (although i cant speak it, I can cook it!), art etc - so i feel this connection to the history of europe.

I have just returned from travelling europe for 8 months, and exploring india for a few weeks on the way home. i find european history and culture inspiring, and india incredible amazing and exhilirating. i hope to return to both places in the next couple of years - hopefully to study in paris - a beautiful city in a beautiful country i love - have lots to say about this! haha

i like to explore cities the local way, so happy to meet and see the city YOU love (or IIII love now i am back in Aus!)

i'm christian, so genuinely out to meet people and enjoy their company - without any hidden agendas or expectations.

PHILOSOPHY

live it!
variety is the spice of life.
everything in moderation.
work to live not live to work.
live one day at a time and make it a masterpiece.
comme tu-veux.
all you need is love and fresh water.
never underestimate that a small group of committed citizens can make a big difference, in fact - it's the only thing that ever has!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

well i found out about cs when travelling, tried it out and loved it... can't host atm, but still keen to meet great people from the around the world... and looking forward to hosting when I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed many couches since learning about it on my travels. Love it and plan to do it for yeeeeaaars to come. revolutionalised my life and brought me to so many beautiful people (and places!)

Interests

i am interested in history, art, culture, people, nature and fun! I have am a passionate Christian and have a drive for social justice (therefore you could say my life mission is to share this with the world).

During my travels I am really enjoying meeting so many great people, and learning lots about myself and the world. My perfect day involves learning some history, good company, good food, some outdoors, and some sort of random experience in a new place!

Music, Movies, and Books

although my classics have been jack johnson and john mayer for years, i love most music (except techno and country) and i have really been enjoying all the funky jazzy and hip hop sounding beats i have come across in europe and india... and everywhere!

i am bad with technical stuff ..l so basically just listen to whatever is on my ipod or the radio. love to hear new stuff!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

constantly put myself outside of my comfort zone chasing an unknown dream... and become a christian...

a few other things...

packed up my life and left everything familiar to follow my path. a few times now!

followed my nose around Europe and India - toute seulle!

worked for a national anti-racism program - survived two years in government!

found myself at the birthplace of modern civilisation on its birthday - after an amazing day exploring.

rode around:

India on a motorbike, smiling and waving at the locals through the heat, smog, dust and raw sound!

Paris on a velib on a quiet sunday night - pedalling leisurely down the beautiful paths, sights and enjoying every surreal moment!

Learnt how to surf in France - well started - even though I am from Australia (there are NO sharks there!!)

Teach, Learn, Share

i share many laughs and opinions.

life stories and wisdom too.

but my most unique thing to share is my appreciation of everything i come across

this translates to loving, encouraging and appreciating everyone who crosses my path (purely in a friendship way).

i know it sounds corny but its true :)
