About Me
CURRENT MISSION
writing a dissertation while still staying sane and having adventures
ABOUT ME
I am a native midwestern-er turned southern transplant. While I miss Wisconsin (especially Madison), I have come to appreciate life in Nashville. There is an interesting music scene, an assortment of really good restaurants, and lots of lovely scenery nearby! I study/wor at Vanderbilt, and I am writing a dissertation on confession and identity in English renaissance drama.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I have friends in Nashville who are dedicated couchsurfers and couchsurfer hosts, I am new to the experience. As I get more time and opportunity for travel, I am so excited about the prospect of this kind of travel collaboration!
Interests
I am kind of a nerd for history and trivia-- I am especially fond of historic homes. I like a nice glass of wine (or two) and games of all kinds. When the Nashville summers aren't too excruciating, I like to hike, walk, and bike. Cooking and baking are also hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: His Girl Friday, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, ET
Music: Regina Spektor, The Mountain Goats, New Pornographers, Jenny Lewis, Wilco, Vampire Weekend, a good old bluegrass jam
Books: Jane Eyre, Never Let Me Go, The Great Gatsby, The Moonspinners, The Boyfriend School... and I study English Renaissance literature (esp drama), and while it is 'work' of a sort, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't like to read it... so it's pleasure too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A small group I was with had the opportunity to get a private evening viewing of the Basilica San Marco in Venice. It was dark when we went in, and then they slowly illuminated the space. It is an amazing church-- the inside is covered in gold leaf, and there are amazing (pillaged) marble floors and columns. The lights made the ceiling glow and allowed the details of the space to come out gradually. It was breathtaking!
