Overview
About Me
Being an adult third culture kid who grew up in a multi-cultural neighborhood, I have a great appreciation for diversity and different perspectives. I am interested in a wide array of topics and enjoy being mobile without any regular fixed commitments. My work as a freelance simultaneous interpreter allows me to be part of various projects with a broad range of topics. I really enjoy what I do because it's satisfying to help others understand things, and I like learning about matters that I'd otherwise not be involved in. This is why I love my job and am open to couch surfing.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life to the fullest and try not to look back with regrets
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd love to learn about other people and places so if you come to Jakarta, contact me! Especially if you're interested in food :D
Interests
I love to read and devour books as quickly as I can get my hands on them, which means that one of my favorite haunts used to be a local coffee shop and 2nd-hand bookstore. I'm still looking for a similar place around here...
Recently, I've started trying to tap into my creative side and channeling my inner child by painting.
Music, Movies, and Books
Unfortunately, I'm a rather indiscriminate consumer of media, though I know I'm definitely not a fan of heavy metal. Back in elementary school, I got into reading Ludlum and still find myself easily becoming engrossed in spy thrillers. My favorite authors include Orwell, Coelho, & Koontz ... I enjoy jazz and blues (and used to play trombone and trumpet) but listen to a lot of mainstream pop stuff as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've broken a big, cement, (sewage-type?) pipe thing with my forehead (hahaha... contact me for the details :-D).
I'm actually kind of low key terrified of swimming, even though I had lessons as a kid and am fully able to swim. In 2013, If finally decided to face my fears and kicked off a trip around eastern Indonesia and Timor Leste by getting my diving license in Bali. There's jumping into the deep end for you, figuratively and literally :P
