About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life to the fullest!

ABOUT ME

I was recently an English teacher in South Korea in a tiny town in the mountains. I taught at two schools and divided my time between work, traveling and hiking. I love to meet new people and love to give hospitality to others. My hobbies include reading, listening to music, knitting, cooking, watching movies/TV shows, hiking and traveling of course :P I did some travels now and we'll see what the future holds back in Canada.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is there to be experienced and lived to the full but I also think that we have a deeper meaning for being here. I haven't yet figured out how that meaning will play a part in my life and I believe that it should. I believe that there is a God and I grew up in the Christian church but I have some problems with some of the theology. What I find most fulfilling is living with a group of like minded people being socially, environmentally and morally responsible for the choices in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love action movies and really witty clever dialogue (they most likely do not occur in the same kind of movies).

For music I like everything under the sun. Mostly I like listening to local artists who really have the talent and passion where it counts.

As for books, I also have a wide taste but I usually only read fiction. There are few times I have dabbled in the non-fiction section because I love escaping into a story. So my reading has ranged from Twilight to War and Peace. Some of my favourite authors include Jane Austin, Agatha Christie, Farley Mowatt, Chiam Potok, Terry Pratchet and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to the korean and turkish bath houses. well most would consider it pretty common but coming from a culture that thinks nudity is completely bad, it has definitely been an experience. My whole perspective on the human body and particularly my body has done a flip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a big believer learning practical skills that have been lost in the age of gadgets. So I love to sew, knit, cook, make jam and anyother skill that has been lost over time and generations. I also love to teach these skills as well to spead their importance.

As for esoteric knowledge I have no claims either way but to say that we all share our experiences and knowledge with each other as we spend time together so I will just say that whatever sticks is fine with me.
