About Me

CURRENT MISSION

It's all about trying to make the world a happier place, isn't it? I'd be surprised if I'm wrong on that one. Not everyone's objective, but that's a shame.

ABOUT ME

I like to get out & about, to socialise with friends & make new ones, and seeing new places is always good. I reckon I'm open-minded, fun-loving, good natured. I don't like describing me, it's not really my opinion that counts, is it?

PHILOSOPHY

Not certain I've got one. By the time I'm very old and very grey, I'd like to have figured one out. “Live and let live” springs to mind, but then you can't apply that to all things at all times. Right, since you asked, let's have a crack at this one. We've all got inner barriers we can try to overcome, we've all got unique strengths and gifts that we can try to realise, and we've all got a deeper direction in life. We generally fall into personality types which means we can use individual profiles to maximise our own potential and minimise pitfalls, so there must be practical strategies we can use to let go of troublesome habits, improve relationships, and increase “inner freedom”. And so we can all find insights into our deepest motivations and fears and desires. That might be more personal psychology than personal philosophy - you tell me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated at all yet, am gonna be in Madrid in November 2009 though and am filling this in now as I'll be looking for a couch over there before long. Mind you, once I've given it a go, I'd like to help the community if I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

Well, I'm interested in science and in nature. Personally, I think that just about covers everything there is ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed a 20,000 foot mountain in Bolivia. Is that amazing? It was very, very cold though. Have been chased by a rhino, caught & eaten piranha (to turn the tables), swum with dolphins, dived the Great Barrier Reef, trekked around an ice sheet, driven round the Aussie coastline. But always with other people, so it's hardly unique. Just travelly stuff!
