HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I often come to Portland CS events while I'm here in Portland, and sometimes I show travelers and new Portland arrivals around town!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, outside of the site, I've spent a short period homeless and employed, and when I wasn't sleeping out of my car, the generosity of close friends allowed for some comfier living conditions. Otherwise, I've done lots of traveling in California, where I have visited and crashed on many a couch of a friend.

Here in Portland, I've shown a number of travelers around town, which has always been grand.

The majority of my CS experience has been in Portland, showing others around the city while they were traveling through. And it's fun! I'm always learning more about Portland myself.

Música, películas y libros

I used to DJ hip-hop on the radio for about five years, and now I DJ clubs and restaurants around town, so I'd say I listen to a lot of hip-hop days. I like all other sorts of music, though, like jazz, blues, indie, experimental, Japanese pop, etc.

The first time I saw my first master play capoeira was the closest thing to magic I had ever seen. The way he moved, responded, flowed, just blew my mind and gave me a whole new appreciation for the art. I've since gotten more used to the sight of amazing capoeira, but it still gets me sometimes.

Mixing on turntables - self-taught, and always happy to help others with this.

English/ESL - Former teacher/бывший учитель английского языка. Though I don't currently teach English, I am always happy to be a language nerd, and help with any English questions.

Languages: I love languages, and learning them. Besides English, I'm the farthest along in Russian, but am always willing to learn and try others.
