Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Mira from the UK. I absolutely love travelling and experiencing new cultures, especially cultures that are much different to my own. I’m quite a slow traveller as I love to really make connections where I stay, although I do some typical backpacking too. Before Covid hit I had been travelling/working abroad for nearly 3 years, predominately in Africa. I did a mix of volunteering/backpacking and working and had the most amazing time. After 2.5 years in the UK I’m ready to get back out into the world!
I love nature and hiking and I’m passionate about environmental conservation.
I like to volunteer whilst I’m travelling to do something positive, meet different people, and learn about different cultures and ways of life.
I’m not so much into alcohol these days but still like a beer now and then and I love dancing, although I’m not particularly good at it 😅😂
I love to meet new people too and share stories about our lives and worldviews. I would say I’m pretty easy going and fun and like to have a laugh and a joke but also like to have deeper conversations too 😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've quit my job to travel for a bit and couch surfing seems perfect for me as it encompasses everything I like when travelling; meeting local people and having a more authentic experience.
When I stop travelling and have my own place, I enjoy welcoming people into my home, making new friends, and showing people around my area.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m quite an upbeat and happy person so like happy, upbeat music and films! I like lots of different types of music but my favourites are afrobeats and reggaeton. I like dance music too. For books I mostly read non-fiction about things like conservation or development.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the most amazing things I’ve done is climbing an active volcano in Tanzania. Looking down into the crater and seeing bubbling lava was a really surreal experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure if I've got any specific skills I can teach! I guess we all teach each other something in our own way though!?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like cooking and cooking for people so if you’re happy eating veggie food I’m happy to cook or share the cooking :)
