Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love having travellers passing through Berlin over for a nice cup of tea (or Espresso actually, now that we have one of those crazy machines) and a chinwag.. potentially also for a nightly showing of 'Life' on our projector and a sleep if there is space. But of course, what's even more exciting, is turning up at some stranger's front door in a strange country and spending a few nights on their couch... nothing beats that!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had a couple of couchsurfers over at ours, some for only a night, some for what seems like half a year... In that time, we've been taught about reflexology, gone to strange theatre pieces in the middle of nowhere in which nothing happened, learned a surprising amount about german grammar and organised photoshoots in a bathroom made living room.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music, but I have a huge soft spot for electro swing and balkan - Waldeck, Caravan Palace, Fanfare Vagabontu, The Correspondants, Gry & FM Einheit, Lack of Afro, The Tallest Man on Earth, Jose Gonzalez, Nujabes, Fink, Parov Stelar, Balkan Beat Box.. you get the gist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once covered all the poles in a Berlin tube with knitting. It involved knitting 45 metres. It took about 3 months, and stayed put for around 7 hours...
