About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Am interested in landing a day gig at a respectable cafe. ...and having an awesome time in the process. or trying to take over the world

ABOUT ME

I'm a now "grad-ge-ated" musician from Temple University, in my home town of Philadelphia. Besides music, I am extremely interested in coffee. I enjoy a good microbrew, Kurt Vonnegut book, meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know. I just try to keep an open mind and respect others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none via this network...yet?

Interests

MUSIC- i'm a bassist, so I'm pretty much into most any type of music. Orchestral, Jazz, Indie-rock, Hip Hop, etc

COFFEE- Stumptown coffee (Portland, OR), Blue Bottle (S F, CA).

Very into environmental/sociological topics.

I currently work at an excellent espresso bar in Philadelphia (Spruce Street Espresso) and play in two actively touring bands (Hermit Thrushes and Folklore).

Spruce Street Espresso is a Counter Culture Coffee account and serves SINGLE ORIGIN DIRECT TRADE coffee from all over the world by way of French Press, Bee House Pour Over Kits, and a BEAUTIFUL 3 Group Head LaMarzocco GB5 Espresso machine! Come check us out. 11th and Spruce, Philadelphia, PA

Hermit Thrushes performs the music of fellow Couch Surfer Yianni Kourmadas. His compositions tend to range from delicate ballads to noisy ruckuses and vary in orchestration and timbre. We're touring this summer. Check us out: www.myspace.com/hermitthrushes

Folklore is a recent transplant to Philadelphia, by way of Athens, GA. It features members of Elf Power, Hermit Thrushes, Ape School, Snow Caps, and Scott Churchman. Past performances have seen as many as eleven musicians on stage at once (including two upright bassists)! Songs tend to range in sound from folk, alt. rock party anthems, and "Venus in Furs-esque" drone psych! Check us out: www.myspace.com/folkloreband
