About Me

Current mission: Aiming to spend a few months based in Paris to work on becoming fluent in French. I'd love to meet up with native speakers for language exchange! The plan is to hitchhike from the south of England to Paris at the beginning of November, anyone is welcome to join me along the way.

About me: Not a tourist! Doing my best to travel with consciousness. I'm aware that travel exploits people and the environment and is only accessable to those of us who come from a position of privilege. I'm mostly broke, technically homeless and live out of a backpack but do so by choice. Hippies gotta address their privilege.

My vibe is all about living in a way that actually supports my worldview. I believe in living for free, sharing, squatting, public art, dumpster diving. The way I live my life is a counterculture performance piece. At least that's what I tell myself when I'm cold, hungry and hitchhiking in the rain!

PHILOSOPHY:
Take every opportunity. Live like you mean it. Be kind. Share your weed. Women of colour will save the world.

Currently travelling alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an absolute gem, I've met great people on here! CS is abundant with opportunities to do cool stuff. Local knowledge is precious, I always have a better time and form proper connections with the people and the place when staying with locals. Cultural exchange is priceless.

Interests

I'm on a wide-eyed journey of discovery, learning about myself and my place in the world. I'm travelling in Europe because my British passport gives me the freedom (for now) to travel here indefinitely. I'm learning a LOT!

Basically I'm interested in doing cool radical stuff, like growing your own food or living free from rent. I'm into ideas, politics, conversations, books, art. I can also chill the fuck out, and I don't take anything too seriously, I promise!

My favourite thing ever is meeting weird like-minded people and taking them on adventures.

OHH by the way I'm a vegetarian, I don't care if you eat meat but I personally won't :) Chur.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything live
... The radio?
Hip hop
Rap
Weird pop
Documentaries
All cartoons, including but not limited to South Park, Rick and Morty, Bob's Burgers, Adventure Time, Archer, The Big Lez Show...
I like movies too, my favourite genre tends to be 'cult'. I try to read a lot, I have a looooong reading list that I love adding to, I might eventually get through it if I ever settle down.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo hitchhiking through Portugal was challenging and humbling on the daily, and living at Tojeiro for a month was unreal, pretty sure it actually happened in an alternate reality

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my shitty hitchhiker food? But you probably wouldn't want that.

I grew up on a sailing boat and I know quite a lot about the oceangoing lifestyle, feel free to pick my brain about that! The long term plan is to sail home (back to New Zealand) and I'd love to chat about it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook you a bangin' chilli sin carne, offer you my English language skills, and we can go do something fun? I'm also more than content to laze around like a cat and drink tea all day.

I am discovering the art of reading the Tarot, I have found it to be an amazing tool for reflection and personal development, and general consciousness raising. I travel with my Tarot set and I would be so happy to gift you a reading.
