Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch surfed a couple of times with very lovely people and, while I have not hosted my own surfers before, I have hosted surfers in a friends' absence. We shared family recipes, hand-made crafts, and stories of people standing up for their rights.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

-My first Couch Surfing experience: I stayed with an industrious couple in Frostburg, Maryland, who shared their special roast beef-avocado-fig sandwich and delicious home-made elderberry wine!

-Co-hosted a Zendik Arts Foundation member in town for a craft fair in Elkins, West Virginia. Both of the above experiences positive and left me eagerly awaiting my next couchsurfing opportunity--

-...which was surfing with a German couple and their 2 daughters in Indiana, PA, during the 2012 Appalachian Studies Conference. They were so kind and welcoming and their daughters were a load of fun to share music with.
