Hi! I'm Mireia and I was born and raised in Barcelona. I define myself as a polite and easygoing girl who loves going on adventures and is always eager to meet people from other cultures...When I come back home from a trip, I'm planning where I'd like to go next... My philosophy is : I live to travel and I travel to live! =)
When I'm not traveling, I teach kids in a school so I'm used to have loooots of patience! So no worries, any problem you've got, we'll try to sort it out always with a smile on our face!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to listen to people's stories and learn about what makes them happy and about their countries, I enjoy learning new things and talking about things I haven't given much thought to. I find it funny we humans are all so different, and yet so similar!
That's why this platform is amazing!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pop rock basically, but I can listen (almost) anything. When I travel, I'm very interested in listening the traditional folklore, the classicals or just the hits that are on the radio in the country where I'm at the moment.
I've got so many favorite movies! I also enjoy watching documentaries.
And about books, I like gripping stories which I can learn something from (especially history) . Some of my favourite books are Angela's ashes, Indian Passion , In the land of longwhite cloud, The shadow of the wind, El tiempo entre costuras and The red sari.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Uff...difficult to choose only one!
-For example, my year working as a language assistant (kind of Erasmus :p) in Manchester...it was my first experience on my own in a foreign country and the first contact with different cultures! Since then, I realized of the big pleasure of traveling!!

-When I went to the country of my dreams by myself...Australia! Touching koalas and kangaroos made me very happy ;)

-Volunteering in workcamps in Finland and Iceland. I helped to clean the environment and I met wonderful people in both places...fantastic experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching is my job but also my passion! I like talking about anything and to learn new languages, new recipes and listening to new music.
I can teach you some basics in Spanish and Catalan and how to cook some foods from my country ;)
