About Me

Hello there!! I am a recent graduate from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, where I studied history, English Literature, and French. I currently work as a nanny and as a server in a bar and am trying to plan my next big adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Building community with people--no matter who or where they are--is something I greatly value. I believe one of the most powerful ways to create these lasting connections is through something as simple as a shared meal or a shared space. Couchsurfing provides the resources to do just that.

Interests

I have such a strange array of interests that I don't think my parents know quite what to do with me. I love reading and classic literature, I have an unhealthy attachment to one too many fictional characters, any mention of the French Revolution is sure to keep me talking, peanut butter is my favorite food, I can bake a spectacular vegan/gluten-free cookie, my dream in life is to open a bakery/bookshop at some point, and I hope to one day live in a tiny house which can travel with me wherever I may go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Folk music is my life and soul. Eh, that may be being a bit dramatic, but I really like folk music. And acoustic music. Pretty much anything where you can understand the words because I like words. Going along with this, I will read pretty much anything because words. I am particularly fond of anything Charles Dickens or Jane Austen--A Tale of Two Cities and Pride and Prejudice being a couple personal favorites--and have recently been on an Irish literature kick. When it comes to movies, it may come as a surprise that I love anything action. Though I will gladly curl up with my favorite rom com--which, at the moment, is Notting Hill--I am looking forward to the day when my dad gets me my very own Die Hard box set. I will also watch anything if it has Colin Firth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I milked a cow named Bicyclette while living on a dairy farm in Normandy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to write a great Shakespearean or Petrarchan sonnet, I would love to learn about anything that makes your heart beat a little faster, and you can always rely on me to share a good laugh or a poorly-told story.

What I Can Share with Hosts

There is so much I hope to gain from this experience, but I hope to be able to share my own passions and quirks with hosts and anyone else I may meet along the way.
