Overview
About Me
"Pali roots" is not my name :p it stands for Palestinian roots. It signifies the deep connection to my heritage, a heritage I carry with immense pride. My roots trace back to Palestine, and with them comes a profound sense of identity and belonging. My heart has always bled for my Palestinian brothers and sisters who endure immense suffering in the Middle East—whether they are refugees, living within Israel, or surviving in the West Bank or Gaza.
Their resilience in the face of adversity is a constant source of inspiration, but also a relentless reminder of the pain and injustice they endure. The atrocities and war crimes committed against the Palestinian people are grave and demand our unwavering empathy and awareness.
I strive to surround myself with individuals who share this empathy and who recognize the severity of the situation. Together, we can amplify the voices of the oppressed and stand in solidarity against the ongoing massacre.
THAT SAID...
Salam :)
My name is Miriam I'm a Parisian kid, half Norwegian and half Palestinian, soaking up all the incredible cultures around me. I like to think of myself as a mini chameleon - I adapt and blend seamlessly. Connecting different worlds, languages and interests? That's my thing.
Meeting new folks is my superpower. I'm absolutely smitten with people - their stories, their triumphs, their stumbles and recoveries! I'm a great listener, but honestly, I love a good chat too! The protection of human rights defenders (my unfinished PhD), the wonders of the microbiome, the deconstruction of patriarchy, the power of meditation, the murder of Sam Cook, the genocide of Palestinians, the feelings of fish, les madeleines de Proust,... - J'adore!
My journey has been an adventure, from diving into humanitarian aid to sharing history lessons in classrooms and now consulting at the university. I've always been in the people business.
These days I find my zen in Stavanger, Norway. The nature here is stunning, the people are wonderfully international and friendly, and the quality of life is off the charts. I'd love to share this piece of paradise with you!
Latin dancing, yoga, hiking, board games, karaoke, skiing, SUP - these are my thrills. But my greatest delight? Cooking up a storm and getting everyone together for a feast. There's pure magic in those shared moments, don't you think?
I'm a curious soul, always eager to learn. Although, I have to admit, my memory isn't the best - teach me something unforgettable? Are you up to the challenge?
I can't wait to cross paths with you soon!
