About Me

I am a Dutch girl living and working in Sweden as a doctor in the local hospital in a town called Gävle. I love traveling, have travelled alone in South America for half a year and also in Europe I have visited a lot of places. I have lived in Germany for one year, and lived on Cuba for a few months, both while doing internships. Now I've lived in Sweden since 2019.
Since some time now I live together with my Swiss boyfriend whom I've met through couchsurfing.
I love painting, drawing, reading, and different kinds of sports, especially the outdoor kind, but really, I'd love to try anything. I love dancing Latin dances, enjoy going out every now and then or just hanging with friends.
I'm a vegetarian who loves cooking, you won't even miss the meat;)
I'm a bit of a dreamer who loves discussing ways to improve society and the world. I think the concept of couchsurfing fits perfectly in this ideal world. If you're open-minded and easygoing, I'm sure we'll get along. Don't hesitate to write!

A friend told me once that in his culture, it is not the guest that is honoured by getting food and a place to stay. It is the host that is honoured by the guest choosing to visit and staying at host's place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people! Plus I think it's a great opportunity to defy the capitalistic and individualistic way the world can be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walk the Camino Primitivo to Santiago the Compostella, which is 340 km through the mountains with a 13kg backpack (yeah, I like having loads of stuff with me). It made me go back completely to myself and live in the moment. I have never felt so energetic and alive. Though also in pain, hehe. But it was completely worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basics of salsa and Bachata. We can cook some amazing vegetarian dishes together by Yotam Ottolenghi. I love speaking and practicing foreign languages with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, jokes, card games. A great meal. Good conversations.
