My name is Miriam and I'm 26. I live in Milan with my family and two beautiful cats. During the year I'm a very busy girl: I study, I work in the laboratory, and I practise karate but when I am on holiday I can become very lazy, going from the couch to the sofa with a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other and nothing can move me!!!But don't be afraid!Sometimes I need to spend the time on my own, especially reading and having long walks, but most of the time I'm very friendly: I like chatting, cooking, listening to the music, and watching movies with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine, who I know since I was three years old, told me she was going to Ireland for a month and asked me whether I'd like to come with her (of course I was!) I never got out of Itlay without a relative and I am very excited. So we started planning the holiday and we found out Couchsurfing: we both thought it was a wonderful way of travelling through a country, knowing new people and improving our English, without spending a lot of money, and so here we are!!

Interests

I'm really into chemistry, and I'd like to apply it to improve the world we live in: we could really find some alternatives to the energy sources we are using...I'd like to work to reach a better way of living, respecting the animals and the planet, and preserving the artworks.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is a subject I could really talk DAYS about! I really love music, movies and books, in all of teir shade: I like classical, rock (especially from the '70 to the '80), hip-hop, electronic, trance, blues, country, celtic music! I love the old, black&white movies as well as the ones of today( musicals, fantasy thriller western, and martial arts movies, and many others), I devoured books like Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, The Grapes of Wrath, The Hustler but also Harry Potter and Twilight...but I'd be happy to talk about it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With the team of my laboratory I went to an ancient Castle in Milan to analize with the laser of a fluorescence spectrometer the colours of the Tapestries that were exposed in there, to try to identify them. It was truly amazing!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think there'd be someone interested in chemistry or someone who wants to practise karate with me..but if there is, I'd be happy to teach or share what I can!Also, I like playing all kind of sports, , so you just have to suggest one and I'll be glad to join you: if it is something I never tried before I can learn !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, I am very tidy, and even if I don't speak English fluently, I understand it very well and I can talk well too. I am friendly and quiet and I like animals... and you don't need to feel obliged to keep me company or to take me around the city if you have to do your business!And, of course, I'd be glad help you if you ask me!
