Sobre mí

The first thing that suddenly came to my mind as I read "about me" was "Goddamit, can't we be having this sort of convo vis-á-vis instead of typing the shit outta my life?".

Ok, whatever, let's do it.

First and foremost, hi there everyone! I'm Miriam. Essay done.

HA! Joke. Let's all chill our panties and get serious for a bit. This stuff must be done.

As I was trying to say, my name is Miriam, I'm 21 (am I half way through my life? Cause I start to feel really old, just sayin, I need your support on this issue, so please bear with me) aaaand *looking for something not lame to say*.... *still ain't finding shit* What can I say, I'm the type of girl all parents love, except mine, of course.

Born and raised in Milan, Italy from Moroccan parents so please do not ask me to define myself into an ethnicity because, God, I ain't got no clue whatsoever. I am a sort of hybrid-Frankenstein-thingie, selecting the best from all the cultures I have come across so far and trying to cope up with it in just one body. And you thought your life was hard, huh?

I am actually studying philosophy while working for a fashion editorial agency. What are your plans for the future? The future never comes and you know why? Because my passport says "born in Procrasti-Nation". This joke is so much my thing, Jesus Christ so much fun. Seriously, the only thing I know is that I love anthropology and I am looking forward to starting a PH.D. In ethnology and anthropology in a couple years. Dream, dream, dream.

But my life ain't about this. Or at least, not only about this.

Oh, are you already scrolling down because I'm getting boring?
Ok, I feel you. Now, on to the fun fun fun part, shall we?

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Because I love couches. And I have always been dreaming of surfing. Is that enough to make me a nice person to have in your household?
Maybe not...

I honestly think that such a hectic environment we live in doesn't make us look at the others in a trusting way. You get me? We are all concerned about the hustle and we look at each other as if we were different and, to a certain extent, in danger. Do you ever get the chance to observe people on public transports?checking no one is touching your bag, checking Facebook, headphones on nonstop, balbla stuff.

Through couch surfing I think and I really hope I will find people with a similar mindset to mine, trustworthy, straightforward, positive and willing to understand before judging anything about cultures or diversities.

I feel so wise, please give me my matcha tea, I'm trying to align my chakras while my wrinkles line up my face.

About the first chapter of this presentation (which gets kind of awkward in some lines, doesn't it?) I already told you I really do fancy anthropology because it is all about this. Cultural Relativism is a kind of mindset which allows you to reflect and to look at cultural phenomena (the way a person eats, greets, sits, dresses etc.) from a respecting point of view, even though for ethical or cultural reasons you don't accept it. That's all. This stuff just makes you richer and I think CS will make all of us richer to a certain extent. *hashtag smiley face, hashtag whatever*

Intereses

Ok. No. I refuse. This one should be discussed live. And plus I'd become so damn boring. My excitement is inhibited by the screen.

Música, películas y libros

Quite an eclectic person. In my life I faced different periods with different tastes, I go with the mood and I developed different kinds of love for each kind of music, movies and books.
